What does it mean to file my tax return (dependent child 22yrs old) JOINTLY with my parents' tax return??

It wouldn't be jointly, it would be as a dependent of your parents if you qualify. You have a limit on your income and your parents must provide over 50% of your expenses. If you work and still qualify as a dependent you should still file as a dependent of another, you may still get a refund.
