Tear in meniscus Mri results what does it mean?

I had an MRI on my knee a few days ago and I have the results. In my results it said that I have a tear involving the posterior horn and lateral meniscus which extends to both the superior and inferior articular surface. I have had many different medical cles so I know bone anatomy and where the lateral meniscus is and what it does I also know because it is a sup to inf tear that it is a complete tear. my question is what kind of treatment am I looking at here? surgery, rest, time? I see the doctor next week and I am just trying to learn more about what was found? Anyone have the same thing with there meniscus?
