Which pokemon game is the longest?

Im looking for a pokemon game to play on a handheld, I was wondering which game was the longest, I think it's silver and gold cuz u can go from "kanto region to johto region" or something like that, i havent played it in years, is there any other pokemon game which you can play two regions like that?
