How to know if a guy likes you or if he is just playing games?

Well I met this guy two weeks ago and everything has been going okay but I am not sure if he wants to be with me. Sometimes he acts nice, and attentive. Lately he has been acting weird and standoffish. I don't have time to play games. I mean is he for real or do I need to let that go and focus on someone else. I think I have issues because when he was paying me a lot of attention, I was not really into him, but now that he is not, I want him to talk to me on a daily basis. I got other candidates, but I think I am really starting to like him. How can I get him to be interested in me again?
